Suncast No-Crank Rsb100 Hose Reel - Works Ok, But... : Suncast RSB100D 100-Foot Water Powered Automatic Rewinding Garden Hose Reel
I bought this item at Lowes and used it twice within one week and it broke. The lowest of the frame serves as a track for the yellow hose guide and the part that keeps the two halves of the frame held together broke. Therefore, the track for the hose guide was broken. Then the yellow hose guide itself broke. I'm assuming it got stuck on the frame "track" which broke and the gears kept pulling it causing it to buckle. That yellow hose guide is very flimsy. After I returned this unit to Lowes, I looked at the hose guides on the other hose reels they had. Of all of them, these were assuredly the cheapest looking. Even the hose guides on by hand crank units made by Suncast were good made. They also had a brown hydro-rewind model that was more boxy looking that has the same hose guide as this one.
It did pull in the hose, but you need to stake it into the ground or grapple it. I would also suggest putting a zip tie or something nearby the discharge hose because mine blew off and I got a miniature wet. also being big clunky thing, the hose stop doesn't do much; it didn't grip my hose very well and the hose reel just kept pulling in the hose and pushed the hose stop to the end of the hose. Getting the hose to come off the reel wasn't as plane as I would expect it to be either.
I would only consider buying one of these units again if they beefed up the hose guide. For the extra money you're paying you should at least get the capability of hose guide available on the by hand crank units. I ended up getting an Ames by hand crank unit that automatically guides the hose. It cost much less, holds twice as much hose and seems sturdier.
